The Copper Canyon Sierra Lodge is nestled against the side of a small pine-scented valley in the Copper Canyon and is about as far off the beaten path as you can get.
Here you’ll find no electricity, no telephones, no TV’s, no radios, no internet! The closest town is Creel, a 20-minute drive. The lodge is built like a long, low, old-fashioned log cabin with a corrugated tin roof. The 18 guest rooms open onto a long tiled front porch, with rustic wooden, hand-crafted log chairs. Kerosene lanterns are strung across the porch. Relax with a good book, visit with friends, all while the Cusárare River, located directly in front of the lodge, twists and winds its way through the valley to a nearby waterfall. Although rustic in nature, the guest rooms are spacious with rich, red-tiled floors, white plaster and log walls, Indian rugs, homespun cotton bedspreads, beamed ceilings, Indian murals, and modern, tiled bathrooms with hot water and even bathrobes! The gentle glow of the gas lamps lends romance. Each room has a wood-burning stove to keep you warm, a few with fireplaces.
All meals are included and the simple, hearty food is perfect after a day of hiking to the nearby waterfall, painted caves or the village of Cusárare. Guests dine together in a large and delightfully cozy room with a giant stone fireplace,
