Day 1: Arrival Day to Mexico City and Private Chef’s Table Dining Experience

You will be greeted at the airport and privately transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Tonight, you will enjoy an insider culinary experience at the Mexican chef´s table.

In this unique encounter, your skilled local chef will reveal the secrets of Mexican cuisine from his private kitchen. Witness an expert team in action from the comfort of your own table, as you feel the passion and creativity at work. This is a fabulous experience for discovering the sounds, flavors, and aromas of local gastronomy.

The magic of the chefs culminates in a 5-course gourmet meal accompanied by red/white wine and finished with organic coffee from Oaxaca.

Upon completion, you will be privately driven back to your hotel.

Day 2: Private Mexico City Historic Center & Foodie Tour

Today after breakfast you will be met by your private guide in the hotel lobby at 9:00 am to discover Mexico’s Mesoamerican, colonial and revolutionary history while exploring the historic center of the capital with your personal, expert guide. What is now the heart of this modern city was also once the center of the Aztec world, Tenochtitlan. You will visit the Cathedral built upon the main Aztec temple by the Spanish conquistadors, as well as the painted representation of Mexico’s past by muralist Diego Rivera in the National Palace. You will then walk through some of the center’s iconic streets to the Palace of Fine Arts where you will explore its varied architecture.

Next you will continue to traverse the historic center on foot but now on a real Mexico Foodie adventure on this 4.5 hour tour (approx. 2 miles walking distance). Enjoy this gastronomic adventure through the traditional flavors of Mexico, from pre-Hispanic food to contemporary culinary dishes. Explore the most important Aztec market, drink in a typical cantina and be delighted with street food. Along our easy-to-walk route discover the wonderful flavors and ethnicity of Mexico – uncover local delights and sights of Downtown Mexico City streets. Get an insider’s look at the can’t-miss eateries and restaurants that only the locals are lucky enough to know about-until now, you’ll know why natives love to live and eat in and are proud to call Mexico home. Day 3: Private full-day tour to the southern neighborhoods with a market lunch

Head to San Angel to discover its narrow, cobbled streets and large colorful houses. If you visit on a Saturday, explore the Bazar del Sabado, an art and artisan market that attracts people from all over the city. Then continue to Coyoacán to wander its tree-lined streets observing the colorful, heavy brick architecture. For lunch, your guide will lead you on a journey of the senses through Mercado Coyoacán to savor the flavors of this authentic Mexican market.

Traversing the narrow streets of Coyoacán, you will arrive at Plaza la Conchita where the Spanish conquistador, Hernán Cortes’ house can be found.
Next you will head to Frida Kahlo’s Blue House. The house where Mexican painter Frida Kahlo was born and later died, is now a museum dedicated to her life. Through observing her house, her art and reading her words you will learn more about this painter who has become an iconic figure in Mexico and beyond

Day 4: Private tour of the Teotihuacan archeological site, transfer to San Miguel de Allende

This full-day experience takes you to one of the most important archeological sites in the Americas, Teotihuacán. With your expert guide, explore the area while learning about the rituals, cosmology, beliefs, and everyday lives of the Aztecs and the inhabitants of Teotihuacán before them. Take the opportunity to climb the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon to look out across the city and valley.

After, enjoy a private transfer to San Miguel de Allende where you can settle into your lovely hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 5: San Miguel private half-day city tour, Cuna de Tierra Vineyard private tour and gourmet lunch with wine pairing

Explore the colorful historic center of San Miguel with an expert guide, visiting the famous pink church. Then, head to the Cuna De Tierra Vineyard, one of the best wineries in the region.

Begin the experience meeting the sommelier at a private reception with a glass of wine. Then hop on a tractor-drawn carriage for a guided tour of the vineyards, followed by a visit to the winemaking area and an in-depth explanation of the production processes.

The experience culminates with a private table reserved at Cuna de Tierra’s charming dining room to enjoy a four-course, gourmet meal with wine pairings designed by chef Carlos Segura.

Day 6: Morning at leisure, Market to kitchen Experience, Culinary Walking Excursion from Traditional to Contemporary Food Markets & private Casa Dragones tequila tasting

This morning you enjoy breakfast and some time to relax or explore on your own before your market experience at 11:00 am.

After meeting your expert guide, together you´ll wander down to the city´s main food market (just 4 blocks away) where you´ll pick the freshest ingredients for the feast ahead from a variety of Mexican foods and herbs. Nibble on ´botanitas´ while perusing the produce and take in the sights, smells and atmosphere of this classic Mexican mercado.

Once back at the chef´s lovely kitchen, it´s time to get hands on with the ingredients as your chef leads you through an exploration of the flavors, colors, and aromas of the Mexican cocina. You´ll learn many essential tips to making authentic Mexican dishes as you discover the chili and herb combinations that go into salsas, and how to cook up several ‘guisos’, or stews.

Your mouthwatering preparations will culminate in a fine and flavorsome meal, straight from the market to the kitchen, accompanied by some tasty margaritas.

In the evening, you may enjoy a 40 minutes private Tequila experience in Casa Dragones Tasting Room, a six-seat destination for sipping tequila Blanco and signature craft cocktails, Casa Dragones collaborated with the internationally acclaimed firm Meyer Davis, known for their made to measure approach to design and architecture, to create the intimate Tasting Room, which showcases Casa Dragones’ ongoing commitment to Mexican craftsmanship. This tasting room is located in the historic Dôce 18, a curated collection of luxury boutiques, design shops and restaurants located just 10 minutes walking distance from the Rosewood hotel.

Offering a transportive and sensory experience, Casa Dragones’ tequila Tasting Room incorporates their “terroir” into the ambience through the use of the obsidian; an iconic Mexican lava stone found in Casa Dragones’ agave fields. This is where the esteemed Mexican designer Gloria Cortina extended her expertise in transforming the natural obsidian rocks into the 4,000 tiles which Meyer Davis then used to adorn the ceiling and walls of the Tasting Room.

Day 8: Private Talavera workshop, Puebla historic city tour

Talavera Poblana, traditional Mexican and Spanish pottery and earthenware has been a labor of love for skillful artisans for centuries, and this morning experience begins with a visit to Uriarte Talavera, the largest fabricator of Talavera in all Latin America. This Puebla factory, housed in the original home of Don Ignacio Uriarte, operated as a family workshop until the 1990’s. When Puebla was founded in 1531, the Spanish commissioned artisans from Talavera de la Reina to produce tiles for the churches, thus bringing the tradition to the New World. Enjoy a private factory and showroom tour, and then join in a ceramic hand-painting workshop experience.

After your morning at the pottery factory, visit the historic center of Puebla, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Can’t-miss highlights include the renowned Capilla del Rosario, boasting Mexican Baroque architecture and 23-carat gold leaf adornment throughout the church; beautiful City Hall; Zócalo (the main square) and the impressive Biblioteca Palafoxiana, founded in 1646 and the oldest library in the Americas. The cloistered Baroque building is impressive with the ornate Virgin of Trapani altar and rich 18th-century wood bookshelves and was recognized by the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2005. At the end of this culture-filled day, sit back and enjoy your private transfer back to the hotel.

Day 9: Half-Day Foodie Walking Tour in the Historic Center of Puebla

Meet your knowledgeable guide in your hotel lobby for an adventurous day of Mexican culinary specialties. Foodie lovers will stroll down the streets of Puebla exploring favorite traditional spots to grab a bite. The first stop on this quest is a small local place for tamales and café. On this tour, you’ll eat like a true local, tasting molotes, pelonas and semitas, some of the most traditional pobalano delicacies, and then you’ll savour tacos at the Tacosa Arabes stand.

Along the way your guide will show you some of the most iconic historic buildings, such as Palafoxiana, the first library in the Americas, and Capillo del Rosario, a chapel heralded the eighth wonder of the world. Finish with a stroll down Calle de los Dulces, a three-block street lined with sweet shops, and a stop at La Gran Fama Dulceria. Taste hand-made confections and be sure to try the camotes, Puebla’s signature candy made from sweet potato.

If interested, after your culinary tour, you may optionally (not included) visit the Barroco International Museum or the Amparo Museum.

  • The Barroco International Museum (closed on Mondays) is designed in its entirety – from its architectural structure to its conceptual dimensions – to explore the complex Baroque essence of the 17th and 18th centuries, while also highlighting features of the contemporary Neobaroque.
  • The Amparo Museum (closed on Tuesdays) has one of the finest collections of Mexican art in Latin America including everything from pre-Hispanic to modern-day pieces.

Upon completion, your private driver will take you back to your hotel to spend a leisurely evening on your own.
