Day 1: Arrive in Mexico City, enjoy a privately guided walking tour

Landing at Mexico City airport, you will be met by a Journey Mexico guide who will privately transfer you to your hotel.

After taking some time to settle in, enjoy a walking tour of Mexico City’s celebrated downtown area where the roots of Mexico’s capital lie in the historic center.

Visit the main plaza (zócalo), which is among the largest plazas in the world. There, admire the Cathedral, the National Palace, and the stunning murals by renowned Mexican artist Diego Rivera. Then visit the Templo Mayor Aztec archeological site and the Palacio de Bellas Artes.

Day 2: San Angel and Coyoacán Tour

Explore quaint Mexico City with a privately guided tour around the colonial suburbs of Coyoacán, the former home of Mexican artist and icon Frida Kahlo.

Stroll through its charming cobblestone streets, stopping at two artisanal markets, and visiting the home and workshops of artists Kahlo and her husband Diego Rivera.

After returning to your hotel, freshen up for an evening in Zinco Jazz Club, considered one of the best nightclubs in the city.

Day 3: Visit the Teotihuacan pyramids, enjoy folkloric ballet or a Lucha Libre show

Having explored modern Mexico City, it’s time to dive into its rich past with a visit to the archeological zone of Teotihuacan, famous for being home to some of the world’s largest pyramids, the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. To enhance your experience, your expert guide will provide you with the history behind Mexico’s pre-Columbian civilizations.

In the evening, enjoy the world-famous Mexico City Folkloric Ballet (Ballet Folklorico) and witness the Mexico of yesterday though traditional song and dance. Alternatively, if you’re feeling more boisterous, head to Arena Mexico for a Mexican Lucha Libre show.
